Never in my life was I so overwhelmed on Independence day!!
The director's speech and the cultural programs that followed it reminded me of the good old days at school where we used to get up "early" in the morning on 15th August and goto school just for the sake of teachers [:P].
But it was different today...
The grandeur of celebrations with army people here n there...it was just too brilliant!
IIT KGP is almost as old as independent India or as our directors said "as young as India".
For decades KGP has been striving hard for realizing the dream that was seen by Late Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru..
If I put it in his own words..
"Here in the place of that Hijli Detention Camp stands the fine monument of India, representing India's urges, India's future in the making. This picture seems to me symbolical of the changes that are coming to India."
No wonder we say..."IIT Kharagpur: Dedicated to the service of the Nation"
